《每日郵報》報導， 英國選秀節目“英國達人”比賽爆冷門，一名47歲教會女義工日前一鳴驚人，讓評審感覺仿佛聽到天使般的聲音，並贏得了粉絲的追捧。
蘇珊在選秀比賽中，演唱歌劇《悲慘世界》中的“我做一個夢”。 她歌聲嘹喨，讓所有評審驚訝的連聲稱讚，一名評審甚至說，這是他擔任評審三年來，聽到的最好歌聲。
Susan Boyle 蘇珊說她只是個平凡的人，她最大夢想就是當一名專業歌手。當她的母親在2007年去世後，她一直在教堂唱詩班唱歌，偶爾也去唱卡拉OK，但是在這麼多觀眾前唱歌還是頭一次。蘇珊還透露，她還沒有和男生約會過，只是和一隻小貓一起生活。
