Carpenters的好歌不少..這裡選錄大家熟悉"昨日重現"..網路上的影音不少..但偶不忍看到她本人氣色不佳的錄像..天生好歌喉的Karen因為長期罹患厭食症的關係﹐最終於1983年2月4日因心臟衰歇﹐病逝於父母家中。去年許多音樂電台及節目特別製作專輯紀念..標題大都以"過世30年仍然讓人非常懷念的 Karen Carpenter (1950-1983)"
認識厭食症
或稱神經性厭食症..是一種進食障礙類的精神疾病..有90-95%都是女性，發生在青少年到青年時期最多..患者對自己的身體形象產生不正常認識，擔心發胖，厭食症患者除體重急遽下降之外，患者對食物極度厭惡，先是忍著飢餓不吃食物，後來變成食物當前也不會感到飢餓，甚至被勸進食物之後，也會以自行導引的方式，將吃下的食物嘔吐出來。此時，患者已經由厭惡食物演變為恐懼食物了。
厭食症的病因
1.生理性:腦內神經傳導異常引起
2.心理性:許多厭食症發病是在青少年，特別是女性，通常父母對他們都有高度的期待，因無法達成期待造成自我挫折感，漸失自尊與自信，轉而以不進飲食的方式達到自我控制的目的..藉此彌補內心的不足..終致精神疾病。(父母施以過度期望壓力常為主因)
